Jerrel Gilliam's Bio (continued)

In 1994, Jerrel accepted a position on the national staff of Promise Keepers, with a focus on racial reconciliation and developing culturally relevant musical expression for the stadium events.  His first initiative for PK was to create a scholarship program in order to eliminate financial barriers and increase diversity at events.  He then created a youth department that targeted boys and young men with specialized programming during certain stadium events.  As time went by, Jerrel became one of the National Trainers for Promise Keeper’s Train the Trainer program.  Later he was promoted to the National Manager of Worship, where he collaborated with the program department and selected music for the stadiums events as well as the annual recording.  Jerrel strengthened the alliance between PK and Maranatha Music where he became a faculty member for the celebrated Worship Leader workshops.  It was during this time that he convened, with the Vice President of Field Ministry, an international worship summit which included major worship record labels, a diverse representation of worship leaders from across the US as well as leaders representing several countries.  It was during this tenure that Jerrel had his first international experience as he was asked to lead international worship for Promise Keepers.  His experience with PK culminated with 2 historic events, the Clergy Conference and Stand In The Gap. The Clergy Conference held in Atlanta in 1996 became the largest and most diverse gathering of clergy in the history of our country.  In 1997 as the National Manager of worship he served on the leadership team for Stand In The Gap where over 1.2 million men gathered on the mall in Washington DC in October of 1997. 

In 1998 Jerrel accepted a position with Integrity Music and created the Urban Praise department.  He was the A&R director for many projects including an international recording in Italy.  As director Jerrel managed recording budgets and gave creative direction and participated in creating the marketing strategy on projects with such producers and artists as Fred Hammond, Israel Houghton, Joe Pace and the Colorado Mass choir, Keith Staten, Kirk Whalum, Don Moen, Gary Oliver, Pastor Jack Hayford, Bishop Joseph Garlington, Bishop TD Jakes, Bishop Eddie Long, Bishop Andrew Merritt, Bishop Michael Pitts, Bishop Clarence McClendon, and Ron Kenoly.  Management of these projects included providing creative direction for live and studio with audio and video recordings, overseeing post production, approving final edits, forming strategic alliance with partnering ministries as well as implementing an international distribution strategy for most projects.  Some of the video projects included a documentary short, music video and promotional cds.  Under his leadership Urban Praise pioneered an enhanced cd concept which included additional resources on the cd.

Jerrel currently serves as Founder and President of Mosaic Sound LLC.  Mosaic is a network of leading Entertainment Industry professionals which includes artists, producers, sound engineers, record company executives, an HD private broadcasting company, television and movie production special effects, leading edge AV technology, network commercial production.  Under Mosaic, Jerrel has a strategic relationship with the Billy Graham Evangelical Association’s Rapid Response team and lead 4 chaplain teams into the Hurricane Katrina affected areas.  In June of 2007, Jerrel was honored by the mayor of New Orleans, Ray Nagin for his national fundraising work on behalf of the citizens of New Orleans in the mayor's “Bring New Orleans Back” program.  Jerrel was also asked to serve as Executive Producer for Stand In The Gap 2007 and Producer for Promise Keeper’s reunion event held in Bolder, CO in July 2009.  Through Mosaic Jerrel does business coaching, church consulting, worship workshops, worship team retreats and motivational speaking. He serves on the board of directors for A Chosen Generation, a ministry that promotes intergenerational strategies for churches; Encourage Men to Pray, national men prayer network; Melting Pot ministries, creates specialized programming for at-risk-youth in public schools. Jerrel currently resides in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania with his 5 children.
